Gramado is internationaly known as the city of cinema. Every year, during August, the most important Latin American Movie Festival takes place in the "Palácio dos Festivais". The Gramado Festival offers to the winner the Kikito Award, the symbol of the festival. A larger replica of the Kikito is in Gramado downtown, close to the hotel where the conference will be held. Other tourist attractions of Gramado include the "Black Lake" and the hydrangeas, blossoming during october, november and december.
