The SBAC-PAD symposium traditionally includes a number of high quality workshops, which are co-hosted with the symposium. To continue this tradition, SBAC-PAD 2010, to be held in Petropolis, RJ, Brazil, is now inviting proposals for co-hosted workshops. The purpose of these workshops is to create a forum for discussing themes that not only are associated with the conference topics, but also promote the integration with other research areas. The workshops may also serve as a platform for presenting novel ideas in a less formal and possibly more focused way than the symposium itself. As such, they also offer a good opportunity for young researchers to present their work and to obtain feedback from an interested community. The format of each workshop is to be determined by the organizers, but it is expected that they contain significant time for general discussion.
Workshops may have a duration of half day or full day. The number of attendees per workshop is subject to the availability of meeting rooms. All workshop attendees must be registered to SBAC-PAD 2010.
The SBAC-PAD organizers will be responsible for the logistics of the workshops at the symposium venue, including projection and computational resources. Any additional costs, such as publicity, submission/refeering procedures, and travel/lodging for invited speakers are the workshop organizers' responsibility. The workshop organizers must also provide their own Web page. The SBAC-PAD 2010 Web site will provide links to the Web pages of the accepted workshops.
The workshops may be held in English or Portuguese.
The workshops accepting paper submissions exclusively in English will have their proceedings published by IEEE in electronic format and also on its IEEEXplore digital library. Therefore, for such workshops the organizers must ensure that all accepted papers are properly peer-reviewed and follow the IEEE conference formatting guidelines (recommended 6 pages maximum).
The workshops accepting paper submissions in Portuguese will have their proceedings published by SBC (the Brazilian Computer Society) in electronic format and also on its digital library. Therefore, for such workshops the organizers must ensure that all accepted papers are properly peer-reviewed and follow the SBC conference formatting guidelines (recommended 8 pages maximum).
The SBAC-PAD 2010 organizers aim at a common timeline for all workshops. Thus, the workshop organizers must adhere strictly to the schedule outlined below.
Researchers and practitioners who are interested in submitting proposals must send an email to the address sbac2010-wshops@lncc.br informing the proposed workshop's Web page. Please look forward to a confirmation message, which assures you that your submission has been received.
