SBAC-PAD is an annual international conference series, the first of which was held in 1987. Each conference has traditionally presented new developments in high performance applications, as well as the latest trends in computer architecture and parallel and distributed technologies. The conference has strong international participation, with submissions typically comming from over a dozen countries. The selection process is competitive, with acceptance rate below 30% in recent years.

In 2010, the symposium will be held in Petrópolis, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Petrópolis was founded in 1843 by the late brazilian Emperor D. Pedro II and is known as Imperial City, with its several historical buildings, and its environmental protection area. In 1999, with the arrival of LNCC (National Laboratory for Scientific Computing), Petropolis became a tecnopole. SBAC-PAD 2010 will be hosted by LNCC.

For further information please check the web site. SBAC-PAD 2010 will be sponsored by the Brazilian Computer Society, the IEEE Computer Society through the Technical Committees on Computer Architecture (TCCA) and Scalable Computing (TCSC), and IFIP.

Authors are invited to submit original manuscripts on a wide range of high-performance computing areas, including computer architecture, systems software, languages and compilers, algorithms, and applications. The authors of selected papers will also be invited to submitted extended versions of their work for possible publication in special issues of relevant international journals.
