SBAC-PAD is an annual international conference series, the first of which was held 22  years ago, in 1987. Each conference has traditionally presented new developments and  high performance applications, as well as the latest trends in computer architecture and  parallel and distributed technologies. The conference has strong international participation,  with submissions from over a dozen countries, and is competitive, with around 100  submissions and a 30% acceptance rate in the latest years.

In 2009, the symposium will be held in Sao Paulo, Brazil, the state in which is located the  largest city in Latin America. Sao Paulo is famous for its cultural diversity and for being a  great center of business. SBAC-PAD 2009 will be hosted by Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie, which is located at 930, Consolação Street, São Paulo, Brazil (map here).

SBAC-PAD 2009 will be sponsored by the Brazilian Computer  Society, the IEEE Computer Society through the Technical Committees on Computer  Architecture (TCCA) and Scalable Computing (TCSC), and IFIP.
