Call for papers

From the 17th to 20th of October, 2017, the 23th edition of the Brazilian Symposium on Multimedia and the Web (WebMedia 2017) will be held at Gramado–RS, Brazil. WebMedia is an academic event promoted annually by the Brazilian Computer Society (SBC). The event aims to convene students, academics and professionals together to discuss and debate current research topics in Multimedia, Hypermedia and Web.

Authors are invited to submit papers reporting research results. The program committee will evaluate the technical contribution of each submission as well as its general accessibility to the WebMedia audience. Papers will be judged on significance, originality, and clarity. The paper must be organized so that it is easily understood by an audience with varied expertise. The paper should clearly identify what has been accomplished, why it is significant, and how it relates to previous work reported in the state-of-the art literature.

  • Papers can be written and presented either in English or Portuguese. Papers in Portuguese must include title and abstract in English, and optionally an abstract in Portuguese.

  • Papers must be written so as to allow double-blind review, which means that authors need to ensure that their submissions do not give away their identity, both in the text and in the references.

  • The submissions must be in PDF, complying with the ACM format (https://www.acm.org/publications/proceedings-template). ** use the ACM_SigConf template.

  • All papers must be submitted electronically by the JEMS system: https://submissoes.sbc.org.br/home.cgi?c=2800.

The proceedings containing the full and short papers will be published in the ACM DL during the event.
